Matti Närekangas (b. 1983) is a visual artist based in Helsinki who primarily works with oil painting. His works explore the movement between subconscious and perception often combining abstract, surreal and figurative elements. Närekangas earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from the painting department of the Academy of Fine Arts, Helsinki in 2024 and has been exhibiting his work since 2018.
